Over a Cup of Coffee: "Overcoming Adversity"
“As with the butterfly, adversity is necessary to build character in people.” ~ Joseph B. Wirthlin
The caterpillar emerges its cocoon as a butterfly in less than 14 days. Inside the chrysalis the caterpillar digests itself, releasing enzymes that dissolve all its tissues. Highly organized cells within the ooze begin to form each part of the transforming butterfly. Near the end of the process, the butterfly must fight its way out of her chrysalis. This “fight for life” process forces fluid from her body and into her wings. Once her wings are expanded and dry, she takes flight with beauty and grace.
Today on “Over a Cup of Coffee” Addie and Jamie have a conversation with their guests Christina Erteszek, and Georgette Allen, about overcoming adversity. Overcoming adversity is the theme of this year’s Four Corners Professional Women’s Summit and the centerpiece of the book, “The First Lady of Under Fashions” written by Erteszek.
