Over a Cup of Coffee: with 100% New Mexico Initiative
“It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.” ~Frederick Douglass
Frederick Douglass was born into slavery and yet became a leader in the abolitionist movement, advocated publicly for the suffrage rights of women and former slaves, and was later appointed ambassador to the Dominican Republic. He was the first African American to become a presidential nominee during the 1888 presidential nomination process.
Similar to many people today, Frederick Douglass, was born into a world of adversity, trauma, and chaos. He managed to escape slavery around age twenty and sought refuge with the David Ruggles family in New York. His life trajectory changed in part, all because one family was willing to help.
Today on “Over a Cup of Coffee”, Jamie and Addie have a conversation with Kathy Price and Dominic Cappello who represent the 100% New Mexico Initiative. This initiative is based on the virtues found in the books “Anna Age Eight” and “100% Community.”
The 100% New Mexico Initiative believes that people can overcome and achieve greatness when their challenges are met with “Thriving Services.”
