Over a Cup of Coffee with Laura Walters Harper
"Blame it or praise it, there is no denying the wild horse in us." ~Virginia Woolf
Today on Over a Cup of Coffee:
Jamie and Addie visit with Laura Walters Harper who wrote and produced the film “Rambo of the Carracas Mesa: A History of the Jicarilla Mustangs and Mustangers.”
Harper tells the story of her once-wild mustang, Rambo. His lineage, identified through DNA, dates nearly 500 years to the Spanish Conquistador movement through New Mexico and his heritage to the Iberian Peninsula of Europe. His life, just east of Navajo Lake, includes the history of the families that lived in the area before the completion of the dam in 1962.
The San Juan County Historical Society will present the film premiere of “Rambo of the Carracas Mesa: A History of the Jicarilla Mustangs and Mustangers” at the Farmington Civic Center on Saturday, July 16th at 5:30.
